Welcome to Sidmouth FolkWeek 2008

young buskerIf you’ve been to Sidmouth Festival before, you’ll know all about having a whole week filled with music, singing, dancing, pub sessions, workshops, concerts, storytelling, cream teas, lying on the beach, Late Night Extra, and sitting up late on the campsite with brand new best friends.

smiling stepperIf you’ve never been, think of FolkWeek as more like a collection of small festivals in the same place at the same time, with something for everyone and a very friendly feel to it compared with some big festivals.

Next year's Festival dates are 31 July - 7 August 2009.

If you're not already on our mailing list, join it now to make sure you receive details as they become available.

You're too late to enter the draw for two season tickets for next year's Festival. The lucky winner was Roger Rowe of Haddenham. But you can still download a copy of our feedback form and let us know what you thought about this year's Festival - good or bad - and any suggestions for the future.

Crossword Solution. If you didn't manage to complete the crossword in Tuesday's newspaper, or want to check your answers, download the solution here.

Download the Working Programme here The full version is 2.9MB but if you've only got a slow connection go for the economy version (200KB) which just contains the event listings. New this year is the Young Sidmouth Programme (1.8MB) with all the events for children.

Street Trading Application forms now available

Yes, you can go to the ball! If you want to come to Sidmouth this year, but not sure whether you can afford it, how about volunteering to steward? See the stewarding page for details.

Motor-home owners please note  Each year the Festival organisers consult with the Council, Police, Fire Service, etc, as well as local residents, to ensure that our arrangements are safe and considerate of the Community, as well as meeting legal requirements. We have become concerned in recent years about the growing number of people sleeping in motor-homes on the streets, and camping on verges, during FolkWeek. Apart from the disturbance this can cause to residents, it is illegal and may cause a hazard to traffic and put lives at risk. We would therefore ask visitors to the Festival to ensure that you do not put yourself or others at risk in this way. The police have also asked us to warn people that they will be regularly monitoring the situation this year.
