Sponsorship, Grants and Donations

Sidmouth Town CouncilSidmouth Town Council This year Sidmouth Town Council has reaffirmed its significant long-term support for the Festival, demonstrating the importance of this internationally renowned event to the town itself and its businesses. Town Council support has enabled us to produce a stronger and more exciting Young Sidmouth programme. We have again developed the new Sidmouth Hub at the Ham, giving more entertainment and facilities in the enlarged catering area, as well as putting the necessary professional structure in place to take the Festival forward for the long term.

Sidmouth Town CouncilDevon County Council We are grateful to Devon County Council for their support of this event, which is so important to the county as a whole. This year, with County Council support, we have strengthened our main concert programme and provided entertainment around our venues, contributing to the creation of a great atmosphere across the whole festival. Devon County Council has also sponsored the Halsway Manor Young Musicians Showcase on Saturday, the Blue Murder Ham Marquee Concert on Monday and the Stiltskin Theatre performances around the FolkWeek sites.

Sidmouth Town CouncilThe Festival receives significant support from East Devon District Council in additional services and the use of venues, thus enabling the complex task of running FolkWeek to be undertaken effectively and smoothly. Many EDDC departments give important advice and support to FolkWeek, and we are grateful to both staff and councillors.

Sidmouth Town CouncilEnglish Folk Dance & Song Society For nearly a century the EFDSS has been preserving and disseminating our folk heritage. The EFDSS continues its support of FolkWeek by sponsoring two lunchtime concerts at the Ham. The Future Traditions concerts give the folk stars of today the chance to present their pick of emerging talents.

svaSid Vale Association - Keith Owen Fund Generous support from the Sid Vale Association allowed us to carry out a project within the 2009 festival (remember the towering withy lantern of The Sidmouth Fiddler in the torchlight procession?) More recently, the grant has also allowed Folk South West to carry out work with 120 local schoolchildren for St George’s Day.

Sidmouth Town CouncilPRS Foundation has awarded Sidmouth FolkWeek 2010 a generous grant to support new music and developing talent within the Festival.

STAGEELECTRICSFestival Production Sponsor – Stage Electrics has a long association with the festival in Sidmouth. Their professional, flexible and imaginative approach to the Festival’s infrastructure is invaluable to the success of Sidmouth FolkWeek. We are, as always, most grateful to Stage Electrics for their support.

fRootslogoMedia Sponsor – fRoots continues to support Sidmouth FolkWeek with coverage throughout the year.

ohanlons1O'Hanlon's Brewery has come on board this year as our official Brewery Sponsor. Please visit their bars at the Ham, Bulverton and Blackmore Gardens Marquees.

FolkWeek Sponsorship Programme

The Festival benefits the majority of Sidmouth town businesses and many organisations within the area. It is now widely recognised that to sustain the event, some of this benefit has to be reinvested in the Festival through significant sponsorship.

We are delighted with this response and, in its turn, the Festival has recognised the importance of this development by launching an entirely new range of sponsorship packages, from Bronze to the elite Platinum level. These bands provide sponsors with benefits through graded packages of advertising, promotional opportunities via FolkWeek media and at events, and invitations to attend FolkWeek performances.

FolkWeek sponsors and advertisers are provided with posters to display in their businesses. Whenever possible, please give our sponsors and advertisers your custom during FolkWeek.

We are pleased to welcome the following businesses and organisations as members of the Sponsorship Programme.
