Welcome to Sidmouth FolkWeek 2009

If you’ve been to Sidmouth Festival before, you’ll know what it’s all about: music, singing, dancing, pub sessions, learning something new, cream teas, concerts, seeing your favourite bands, discovering your new favourite bands, crab sarnies, storytelling, lying on the beach, dancing the night away at Late Night Extra, and sitting up late on the campsite with your brand new best friends.

If you haven’t been before, you’ve got quite a treat in store: One of England’s very best folk festivals combined with a seaside holiday in a beautiful Regency town! What more could you want from the first week in August?

Jim Moray sums it up: ‘The important thing about Sidmouth, as someone who has attended most years of my life, is that it doesn’t belong to “them” in the way that other festivals do, it belongs to everyone to make their own thing out of.’

David Owen designs for Sidmouth
Graphic artist David Owen has designed a series of postcards for us to promote the Bulverton events, with essential information on the backs of the cards. Keep an eye out for them at a ceilidh near you in the New Year! Plans are also afoot for an exhibition of some of his work at the Festival.
